Let me ask you –
What’s your vision?
What’s your business big picture?
What are you creating?
And WHY are you creating it?
If you want to grow a business that is sustainable, fun and successful – you need to have an answer to these questions. It’s all about vision baby.
Can you operate without it? Maybe. Should you? Absolutely not.
Now, I’m not saying you need some master plan complete with footnotes for the next 20 years, but I do know that understanding and being really clear on your big “Why” is critical.
Here’s why:
- It’s empowering: Understanding your bigger “why” helps you clear the clutter when things/people/opportunities don’t fit.
- It’s authentic: It’s all about you honey. Knowing your vision is what’ll keep you firm in your own values, strengths and passions.
- It’s liberating: Painting your big picture will keep you focused on YOUR goals and keep you away from comparison mode.
- It’s motivating: You’re gonna have some rough patches along the way. Tapping back into your bigger why will get you back on track when you feel like giving up.
- It’s lucrative: Having a big picture will give you big focus to bring in the big moula
- And it’s exciting: Don’t you want to know what the heck you’re working for in the first place? What the big dream is?
So spend the time. Get out of the day-to-day details of your business and start dreaming again. Remind yourself why you created this business in the first place. Dig deep – get to the real heart of the matter.
Here’s mine (in a nutshell): I am creating a sustainable, successful six figure online business that affords me the opportunity to be the primary caretaker to my two beautiful kids. This freedom-based lifestyle business is centered around helping women entrepreneurs truly become stand-out rockstars in their niche and build thriving, exciting businesses that make them jump out of bed every morning.
And that’s just the start of it. My vision actually goes into much more detail. When I need a pick me up, or a reminder or I have to make a decision about whether to be involved in a project or opportunity, I run it through the vision test. Does it support or detract from my bigger vision. And then the answer is easy. (Ok, maybe not always easy. But at least it’s clear)!
The future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades!
