Going Pro isn’t….
:: Copying your idol’s brand, voice, offers, words just because they’ve been successful
:: Doing it only for the money
:: Forgetting to do it for the money at all
:: Staying addicted to the stories that keep you playing small
:: Believing that just because you could, means you probably should
:: Showing up fully one day and then disappearing into the night the next
:: Blaming others – coaches, peers, the economy, the internet, the media or anything else for your lack of results
:: Spending your time watching and wishing instead of being and doing
:: Minimizing your expertise, doubting your abilities or devaluing your work
Going Pro is…
:: Treating your business like a REAL business
:: Intentionally designing a business model that serves the lifestyle you want to have
:: Staying small and lean, serving a handful of clients and making big changes in their lives. If that’s what you want.
:: Going BIG, writing the book, getting the speaking gigs, spreading your message far and wide. If that’s what you want.
:: Finding a middle ground in between. If that’s what you want.
:: Deciding daily that you’re committed to doing the work. No excuses.
:: Dropping the story that you can’t or that it won’t work.
:: Cultivating a powerful inner voice that reminds you how valuable you really are.
:: Being ok in uncertainty
:: Doing what most people are unwilling to do
:: Pushing your own creative edge
When it comes to Going Pro – there’s always a CHOICE.
Always. And you should consider them all — plus a few wild-card what-ifs, for good measure.
But remember: the only cure for analysis-paralysis is simply to choose. Make the choice that carries you closer to PRO.
